New beta exams released for Windows Server 2012

If there was ever a time to update or create your Microsoft Subject Matter Expert profile it would be today. Starting today two new Server 2012 beta exams have become available for anyone interested in getting certified for Windows Server 2012. The new exams that have become available are part of the new certification of MCSA: Windows Server 2012.

The following exams have become available:

  • Exam 70-411: Administering Windows Server 2012

  • Implementing Advanced Network Services
  • Implementing Advanced File Services
  • Implementing Dynamic Access Control
  • Implementing Network Load Balancing
  • Implementing Failover Clustering
  • Implementing Disaster Recovery
  • Implementing AD CS
  • Implementing AD FS
  • Exam 70-412: Configuring Advanced Windows Server 2012 Services
    Exam Topics Covered:

    • Implementing a Group Policy Infrastructure
    • Managing User and Service Accounts
    • Maintaining Active Directory Domain Services
    • Configure and Troubleshoot DNS
    • Configure and Troubleshoot Remote Access
    • Installing, Configuring, and Troubleshooting the Network Policy Server role
    • Optimizing File Services
    • Increasing File System Security

To get started with the new exams and work towards your new MSCA Certification you can either sign up for the exams using the Prometric registration website found here: Prometric Registration

To summarize, now is great time to get started with the new technologies that are coming out this September and October. So if you have been playing around with Server 2012 lately and feel you are up for a challenge you can sign up for one of the Beta exams. It is harder to prepare for but all the better when you know you were one of the first to passed for your certification.

Windows 8 Release date announced

It is official, Microsoft has announced the release date for Windows 8. After some speculation earlier this month, it has been confirmed on the Windows Server Team blog. After the earlier announcement that Windows Server 2012 would be available in September, a release date for Windows 8 was expected to be announced as well. Windows 8 is set to be released on the 26th of October.
